What is Neurotech?

Neural engineering is a field that combines principles from neuroscience and engineering to develop technologies that interface with the brain and nervous system. The goal of neural engineering is to understand how the nervous system works and to develop new technologies that can enhance its function or repair it when it is damaged. This can involve developing devices that can record or stimulate neural activity, such as brain implants or prosthetic limbs, or using advanced computational methods to analyze large amounts of neural data. Neural engineering is a rapidly growing field with the potential to transform many areas of healthcare, such as neuroprosthetics, brain-machine interfaces, and neuromodulation therapies for neurological and psychiatric disorders. It also has important applications in basic neuroscience research, allowing scientists to better understand how the brain processes information and generates behavior. UF provides an extensive selection of courses and training related to this field, catering to diverse interests and academic pursuits.
